We want you to be perfectly happy with the items you keep! We offer exchanges for both items received in your curated Fixes as well as items purchased through the Stitch Fix Freestyle™, provided the desired size or color is available in our inventory.

We offer two types of exchanges for eligible items:

  1. Size Exchange: Trading an item for the same color and style in a different size
  2. Color Exchange: Trading an item for the same size and style in a different available color (Freestyle Only)


How to exchange an item in your Fix

We are happy to help you exchange an item from your Fix for a different size! Exchanges are a great way to ensure you get the perfect fit for an item you love.

You can request an exchange during the checkout process for your Fix:

  1. Log in to your Stitch Fix account
  2. Go to your Fix Checkout page
  3. Select exchange for the item you wish to exchange
  4. Select the desired size you want from the exchange drop down menu
  5. Complete the Fix Checkout as usual 
    • Your exchange request is confirmed upon your payment processing

Note: If you do not see your desired size, this means the item is out of stock. 

After Completing An Exchange Request

  • Shipping: We’ll ship the new size item to you free of charge. You’ll receive a separate shipping notification and tracking number once it ships.
  • Returning the Original Item: You must send the original, incorrect item back to us using the prepaid return bag included with your Fix. 
  • Failed Return: If we do not receive the original item within 30 days of the exchange request, you will be charged for both the original item and the exchanged item.


How to exchange a purchased Stitch Fix Freestyle™ item

We're also happy to help you exchange an item purchased through our Freestyle shop for a different size or color! Exchanges are subject to availability and must be initiated through your order history within 30 days of the purchase date.

  1. Log in to your Stitch Fix account
  2. Select the profile icon with your initial
  3. Select Orders 
  4. Locate the specific Freestyle order that contains the item you want to exchange
  5. Select View details or return items
  6. Select Return or exchange
  7. Select the item you wish to exchange and choose the option to Exchange
  8. Select the desired size or color from the available options
  9. Complete your purchase to confirm your exchange

You will need to rebuy the item in order to confirm the exchange. Then we will refund you for the original item once we receive and process your return. 

After Completing An Exchange Request

  • Shipping: You will receive a separate shipping notification and tracking number once it ships.
  • Returning the Original Item: You must return the original, incorrect item to us using the return label included in your order or generated during the exchange process.
  • Watch for a Refund: Once your original item has been returned and processed your original form of payment will be refunded. Please allow up to 14 business days for your return to be received and your refund processed. 


Our Exchange Policy

  • Time Limit: Exchanges must be requested within 30 days of your Fix delivery date or Freestyle purchase date.
  • Condition: The item must be unworn, unwashed, and have all original tags attached.
  • Availability: Exchanges are dependent on inventory availability in our warehouses. If the item is out of stock in your desired size or color, we will process a refund upon the return of your item.
