Stitch Fix offers exchanges for items purchased from Stitch Fix Freestyle™ and items you receive in your Fix but haven't yet purchased. Learn more below about the types of exchanges we offer and what you can expect after you request one.

If you've already checked out for a Fix item and need to exchange it for a different size, you can contact us to see if we have a replacement available. We can also provide a prepaid, printable label with which to return your original item. 

Exchange during Fix checkout

  • Order an exchange using the “Exchange” option during your Fix checkout.
    • The sizes listed are what’s currently available in our inventory.
    • You’ll be charged for the exchange when you complete your checkout.
  • Choose the return shipping option that works best for you with USPS or FedEx:
    • Ship it back with a prepaid label
    • Drop it off with a printerless QR code
  • Please include the original item in your return envelope to return using your chosen shipping option along with any other items within the three business day return window.

Exchange a purchased Stitch Fix Freestyle™ item

Exchange items purchased from your Freestyle tab by selecting them on your Orders & Returns page. You’ll see an option to exchange when:

  • You purchased the item from the Freestyle tab (Fix items won’t include an exchange option).
  • You purchased the item less than 30 days ago.
  • Please note that you can only process returns and exchanges once per order.

To purchase your exchange:

  • Go to your Orders & Returns page
  • Open the order
  • Click the option to “Return or Exchange”
  • Select the item(s) you want to exchange
  • Choose the different size and/or color
  • Click "Submit order" to checkout for the new item(s). You will be charged for the exchange(s) at this time.
  • Choose the return shipping option that works best for you to send back the unwanted item(s) with USPS or FedEx:
    • Ship it back with a prepaid label
    • Drop it off with a printerless QR code
  • We’ll send you a follow-up email with return instructions

To return your original item:

  • Please make sure your item has all original packaging and tags. This includes any branded bags for footwear and jewelry bags.
  • Use the label included with your Stitch Fix Freestyle™ delivery to return your items. 
  • Place your unwanted item(s) back in the original packaging and return using your chosen shipping option.
    • If your shipment included a prepaid USPS label, you may use that instead.
    • If you encounter any difficulties, please contact us for a prepaid, printable label.
  • Please allow up to 14 business days for the refund to appear back on your original payment method.

What to expect with your exchange

When your exchange will ship:

You’ll receive an email confirmation with a tracking link once your exchange ships, generally within one week of placing your order. If you’re expecting multiple items, they’ll ship separately.

If your exchange doesn’t fit or you change your mind:

If you’re not completely satisfied with your exchanged item, please contact us so we can assist you with a return. We’re unable to accept returned items more than 30 days after your purchase. Please make sure any returned item has all original packaging and tags. This includes any branded bags for footwear and boxes for jewelry.
